Black Ada Lagoon
A backwater of the Bega River and a part of Mogareeka Inlet, Black Ada Lagoon is a shallow, tidal, swampy, coastal lagoon lined with reeds.
Although about half a kilometer back from the coast and well beyond the dunes it is still a part of the coastal dune system. When I see the mountains of sand which build up at the estuary mouth when it closes it's not hard to imagine the river breaking out a kilometer or more from its present opening. In fact I suppose the whole area has been ocean at some point in time.
