Brock and Zac update – 12 May 08

Firstly for you all, dad has fixed the blog so that if you click on the photos (only for the twins posts I think) you will get a separate screen pop up and see the photo in a full size. Enjoy all the photos.Brock had his hernia op on Thursday (1 May). The poor little thing woke up in recovery absolutely bawling his little heart out and wouldn’t be calmed so they had to give him some more drugs. He calmed down alright after that and was a real little legend for the rest of his stay in hospital. Dale went home and looked after Zac for the night and I stayed in the hospital and looked after Brock. It wasn’t the most comfortable experience as I got to sleep in a recliner at the end of the bed but I felt better being there. Here is a photo of Brock before he went in for his op.

Our camera is playing up at the moment, the rechargable batteries have died, so the only photos I have for the moment are ones off my phone. I hope they come through ok.

We are getting smiles from the boys and they have started playing with a rattle toy. Because they were so early a lot of the things that a normal, full term baby will do are delayed. So although they are nearly 4 months, in terms of there development it will all happen a little later.

We had Rusty for the Anzac Day long weekend. Here a couple of photos of him. He is very good with the boys and has a bit of a sniff and a lick and pretty much leaves them alone. This one is of him sniffing at the boys on the play mat and the other is him making himself at home on our bed.

Apart from that it has been a pretty quiet week. I went to a meet up in Mandurah with some other mums off the website I have been talking to during my pregnancy and since. It was really nice to be out and about with the boys and chat to some other young mums.

I also had my first mothers group meeting today (Thursday 8 May). It was really good and they are a good bunch of ladies. About 20 mums and all different ages and one other that had a premature bub. Her little boy was born 17 weeks early and has been home for 3 weeks and still on oxygen. It was good to talk to somebody else who had been through the roller coaster ride of a prem baby and share some of the same experiences.

I had my first mothers day on Sunday. We all went up to Canningvale markets and had a look around. There were some people selling plants cheap so we might go back there when the house is finished to get them cheap. Here’s a photo of me with both the boys. You can all see how short I have cut my hair finally. It is just about due for another cut now.

One more photo.  This one is from a while ago of Zac leaning up agains Molli while he was waiting for his feed one time. I thought it was a pretty cool photo.
