Brock and Zac update - 27 June 08
We’ve had an interesting week this week. I have been sole parenting for a few days while Dale was interstate for work. Let’s just say that I was very happy to see him walk through the door last night. The boys were good but it is just exhausting doing it on your own.
Not too many photos for this week, I have been a bit slack with the camera again.
Last week was a busy week. Monday we were back up at King Eddie (hospital) for a physio appointment. Cos the boys were premmie it is one of the services that the hospital offers. We will need to keep track of there progress but the physios were quite happy with where they were at and gave us a couple of things to do with them.
I was then up to PMH on Thursday for an eye check up. The doctor was very happy with there eyes and we don’t go back there for another six months. Yaay!! One of the girls that I have been chatting to on the internet who was due in March lives up near PMH so I organised to meet up with her and her little boy. The boys had been out every day since Saturday and weren’t on there best behaviour but it was good to chat to another new mum and to finally meet someone I have been chatting to for nearly 12 months but never met. Her little boy is gorgeous but has so much hair and is so much bigger compared to the boys. We don’t think of them being small anymore but compared to other full term 5 month olds they are still small. This was the first time I had them in some big boys clothes, ie outfits that were more like real clothes, so I took a photo of them each.
Speaking of there size, I went to see the child health nurse on Wednesday (this week) for there regular check up. So, drumroll please, there new weights are: Brock 5.49 kg (12lbs 1 oz) and 59 cm and Zac is 5.31kg (11lbs 11 oz) and also 59 cm. These weights put them in the 3rd percentile for a full term 5 month old so they are doing fantastically well. Zac is also starting to hold his head up pretty well on his own and Brock is not far behind. Brock seems to be a lot more vocal and interactive than Zac so they are developing there own personalities already.
On Tuesday afternoon I went around to visit “Aunty Leonie”. I’m not sure if it’s cos they were in a bad mood and missing dad or if they have worked out they don’t like strangers but when Leonie picked up either of them they just screamed. They weren’t too bad when they saw her again on Thursday but we also didn’t want to push it too much.
Dale got home on Thursday night and had today off so he took the boys for a road trip to pick up some items we won on ebay. It was nice to have a few hours to myself.
Oh, and a special treat for you all. After seeing the photo of Brock with his big smile, Mum was looking through some old photos of me when I was little and came across this one of me at 7 months. See any similarities??
Off for now. More again soon.
D & E and the boys.
