Brock and Zac update - 5 July 08

We haven’t been or gone anywhere much this week but the boys have been doing lots. 

 On Monday they had there 4 month injections.  Yup they are a bit late but it’s ok cos we will catch up.  The next ones are due at 6 months and we will have these at the end of August.  The boys coped ok.  I fed them when we got home and they went down to sleep ok.  However, they then both woke up at the same time later on in the afternoon and Zac got quite distressed and cried for about 30 minutes without a break.  It’s heart wrenching when either of them does that but he did settle after that. 

We have been doing what they call a “dream feed” for a couple of weeks now.  Essentially a dream feed is where you pick them up at (for us) 10pm and 1030pm and feed them.  We don’t change them, unless they are dirty, and don’t unwrap them but feed, burp and then put them back in there cot.  It’s worked a treat and the boys sleep through til about 6am each morning.  Dale does the dream feed and then comes to bed and I am still responsible for anything after midnight.  With the dream feed though they stir occasionally, less and less as time goes by, they pretty much sleep and we both get a decent block of sleep.  I don’t tend to sleep as solidly as Dale and wake up quite a bit still but eventually I will also get the hang of it. 

Both boys seem to have come along in leaps and bounds this week.  Brock is gripping things a lot better and has started lifting up his feet to try and play with them.  He also loves reading his ‘book’ and talking.  Brock talking is normally how we get woken up in the morning.  Zac has been going great guns with his tummy time and in fact rolled today.  He has done this once before but I managed to catch it on the camera today.  Hopefully he will do it again soon and I can film it too.
