Brock and Zac – update to 9 Apr 08

Here I am back again, and a lot sooner than other times. I seem to be falling into some sort of routine purely by default as I have no control over the boys at all. We do the morning feeds, usually sometime between 5 and 6 am and then I go back to bed until they wake up for the next feed, at the moment, 3 hours later. This gives me that little bit extra that I seem to need to get through the day. Once they have been fed, I am up and showered for the day. This is how it is meant to work. Some days it does and some days it doesn’t. They are still sleeping most of the time, so while they are asleep is my opportunity to try and do the washing etc and although it sounds like I would have lots of time, there is sometimes only an hour to get showered and do stuff before they are awake for the next feed.

The afternoons run pretty much the same although I am trying to get out for a walk with them in the afternoon. It’s good for me and good for them. Dale comes home after work and he takes the evening shift and feed the boys. He stays up later than me normally so he does the late evening feed and then I am back on shift from midnight. That is how the routine is meant to work. It doesn’t always and sometimes they both wake up together during the night which means we are both up but they are getting better and sleeping for the full 3 hours and I feed them half an hour apart to try and stop them waking together.

Dale’s sister, Maree, her partner Justin and daughter Samantha are visiting us at the moment. They arrived on Monday (7 Apr) and Samantha had her first hold of Zac (I think) that night. Maree got a photo on her camera so I will upload it from there and put it on here when I can. (Edit – I forgot to get the photo b4 they left so you will all have to wait) Stay tuned for the update with the photo of that one. They have all gone down to Busselton for a few days and will be back on Friday.

Dale took Tuesday (8 Apr) off and knowing this, I had booked in to get my hair done. I was getting sick of it being long and so I now have short hair. It’s also a nice chestnut colour. See the below photo (didn’t get the photo taken so will put one in for next week). It’s a bit change and the shortest I have had my hair in a long long while but it was so much easier to do this morning.

While I was out the rest of the family went up to Fremantle for a bit of a look around. Fremantle is not that impressive in itself but I think everybody had a bit of fun. I must admit I enjoyed the quiet house when I got home and went and got another hour and a half of sleep. I know it probably seems that I don’t do much but sleep all the time to you all out there but at the moment I have to grab it where I can. The broken sleep through the night is really not conducive to beating tiredness and it seems to be a perpetual state at the moment.

So, my apologies to everybody, but no new photos of the boys this week. Will put some in next week.
