They have both now learnt to push themselves along on the little car thingys we’ve had for a while now.  They have become the new favourite outside toy. 

The boys are getting better down the beach.  Both of them got their feet wet on Friday last week which was a huge step for them.  At the start of summer they both hated the beach.  Unfortunately I don’t have any photos of this cos it’s quite a challenge watching them both near the water. 

We have had some very hot days of late.  Monday was a public holiday here and we had a family outing to a Community Fair up near Perth.  It was very hot and the boys didn’t sleep while we were out or on the way home (the car seems to have lost his hypnotic ability) but did go to sleep when we got them into bed. Let’s see which ones of you can tell them apart in this photo. 

Brock has developed a fascnation with the tele.  He gets up of a morning and wants it on but it doesn’t come on until after breakfast and even then it’s only on for an hour.  Here he is sitting on his lounge fixated. 

Zac is just a little old man which I think I got in this photo.

I’ve started bringing out a few toys that the boys haven’t seen before.  Ones that they are finally getting old enough to play with, kind of.  The Jones’s gave us a train set that Aiden had played with.  It’s quite complicated to put together and although Zac was kind of interested in it they were more keen to take it apart.  Because it was so complicated to put together, I have put this one away and got out another train set which is a bit smaller and a lot easier to put together.  Here’s some photos of both sets, and Zac mostly, playing with them.

We’re still doing our mum’s group meetings on a Friday morning.  Recently we’ve been going down to the beach, which the boys are getting more comfortable with again, but last week we had a baby shower for one of our girls who is due to have her second child shortly, and so went to Kim’s house.  Kim has a pool and I would love to show you some photos of the boys swimming but although they quite enjoyed looking at the pool through the fence they were not at all keen on hopping in the water once we got inside the fence.  So, I just have a photo of them in the sandpit. 

And, as the house is on the market, we have been having Home Opens on a Sunday afternoon.  Dale stays here and talks to all the prospective buyers and I take the boys and the dogs out for a couple of hours.  We go around and visit Auntie Leonie and Uncle Mark and have a great time playing with all the different toys and in the water in the “shell pool”.  As you can see Brock finds it really hard. 

As the boys don’t get to play with many other kids I’ve started taking them to GymPlay at the local YMCA.  It’s 2 hours on a Wednesday morning where the get to run amok on a whole heap of different equipment for the first hour and the second hour is playdough and craft.  The boys love it and the added bonus is that they are normally so tired after it that they sleep for about 3 hours afterwards.  (These photos were taken on my mobile so they may not be as good)

Brock and Zac are still both very keen to help mum and dad around the house.  I’m trying to harness their energy however they haven’t quite worked out what to help with.  

We had a garage sale last Saturday to help with decluttering the house in preparation for sale and moving.  We had to keep Rusty and Molli inside so that a, they didn’t bark too much and b, they didn’t escape out the side gate.  Neither of them particularly liked this state of affairs and you can see Rusty tryin to squeeze out through the gaps in the gate.  Molli eventually jumped the gate so we had to put her in our bedroom and shut the doors. 

The boys enjoyed being outside with all the people and playing on the swing seat (which we are trying to sell).    

Some of the things that didn’t sel have made their way back into the house and garden.  The boys hadn’t seen the ceramic bear before and were both very excited to see him in the garden.  Both decided to give him a kiss to welcome him. 

We’ve had the slide and swing toy out for about 12 months now I think and the boys are finally starting to use it.  Brock really likes the swing and Zac likes the slide so there is minimal fighting, generally.

And I always try to get photos of the boys together as people seem to like these ones.  This is the best I have got this month.

One morning the boys decided they didn’t want to eat in their highchairs but rather at the table.  We did try to graduate them to the big table but they are much happier with the small table.  We still eat dinner in the highchairs but it’s a start. 

We’ve also started doing some painting.  We started out on the patio (I made sure the sheet was down so we don’t have to scrub the pavers for the Home Opens) and now that we have an easel (thanks Grandma for a great birthday present) we do lots of drawing with chalk out there.  I will put some paper up there for them soon and we will see how they go painting standing up. 

The boys are getting very keen to “help” mum and dad.  They helpget their high chairs out at meal times and with cleaning and with watering the plants, or feet, when we go outside. 

We got some great books for Christmas and thank you so much for them all.  Quite often when it goes quiet I will look around and they are both sitting up on the couch reading a book each, but here they are up on the bed. 

They also love watching Daddy do magic, when he turns the sprinklers on and off.  I’m not sure that they would want to be outside when they are on but they do love watching them from inside the house. 

And the boys are 2 now so we are thinking about toilet training.  Not seriously thinking, but the potties are out if the boys decide they are at all interested in them.  They do tell us when they have done a pooh and have a dirty nappy.  Just got to get that connection to happen before they go.  Easier said than done     

And here are some pictures of the boys drawing on the new easel.  Brock gets very serious and concentrates and loves the duster.  They both seem to like the pink chalk the most.

It was a very hot day and so we had a quiet day at home.  The boys both loved their cake, but Brock, was still happy to share with Dad.  He’s such a good boy

We had a couple of sick little boys at the start of the month.  A bug going around hit them pretty hard and I knew how sick they were cos they both fell asleep out in the lounge.  This is just not something they normally do. 

We’ve had some very hot weather over the last few weeks. It’s been nice to get the boys outside and playing in the water and the garden.  One morning the boys decided though that they needed there hats (or rather there beanies) on.  Odd children.

Last year I laybyed a Christmas present for the boys.  We finally got it out on Sunday.  Dale got rather light headed inflating it all and we hoped the boys would love it.  They didn’t!  We took them outside to put them in and they both screamed and yelled and didn’t want a bar of it.  After about an hour of Dale and I and Uncle Mark and Auntie Leonie playing in it, they got up close to it but didn’t really enjoy being in it.  Uncle Mark had a bit more success at getting them in and distracting them so they didn’t cry but never for long.  We will see how they go next time we fill it up. 

We put up the Christmas tree last night, after the boys had gone to bed.  We held off this long cos we knew the boys were going to be very interested in it this year, and they are.  I feel like I am constantly telling them no, or leave it alone, but I’m sure they’ll get over it by Friday.  Fingers crossed they will anyway!!

Mum and I took the boys down to the park on the Sunday they were here.  There is one in particular that they quite like so here are some photos from this outing. 

The Baldivis Country Fair was on while Mum and Dadwere here.  It rained just after we arrived.  The boys were fine with there pram cover, the rest of us weren’t quite so dry.   Mum and I had a camel ride.  Not very flattering photos but it was fun.  Thanks Dad, for being photographer. 

We’ve had a couple of other outings.  SpringFest was on on the 21st November.  It was a bit of a dud and a huge ripoff for the rides.  It was $5 for 8 mins on the jumping castle for each of the boys.  As it was, neither of them liked it (even with mum on too) and were off within a couple of minutes.  No chance of a refund though.  There has been quite a few letters of complaint about it in the local paper too. 

It’s also started getting warmer so we have been spending a lot more time outside in the back yard running around.  This time I had put water in the boys old bath for them to play with.  They both decided it was better to play in the water, with all there clothes and shoes on.   

So I took all there clothes off and let them have a run around in there nappy, and there shoes and a hat of course. 

The boys have also discovered drawing. Crayons are the favourite at the moment and have only been used on the paper, coffee table and child gate, so far.  Fingers crossed it stays that way.

We had a visit from the boys cousin Rob who was back from the UK to see his dad.  His mum (Heather) and Nanna Mary also came to visit.  I think it’s the first time we have managed to get a photo of the boys with any of them so here are a couple to share with you all.

Brock was first and was very still.  Zac was a little impatient when it was his turn and didn’t sit quite so still.  I have kept the first cut from both boys but unfortunately the curls didn’t come off as curls so sorry to all those I promised curls too.  Maybe next time.
