House update – 3 June 08
Hi All,
Well there has been quite a bit of movement on the house front in the last week. As reported in the last update, the house is at lock up (which is bloody frustrating as we can’t get in when we want anymore – I have to go out at lunch time now) – and there has ben a lot of stuff done.
The tilers have been in and installed the baths in both of the bathrooms, bricked in the shower bays and levelled the floors all ready for tiling. The shower bays have been painted in a very bright green sealer (our friend Toni actually likes the green paint – we’ll let you decide).
The painter has also started and put the first coat on the ceilings and cornices. He’s also started on the external paintwork putting the undercoat on all of the down pipes and some of the eaves. Again, the painter is another contarcator that is working on his own – big job.
Friday (30 May) saw the concrete poured in the garage – which was totally unexpected. We are hoping that we will see the pavers delivered this week and maybe the driveway, path and alfresco paving started next week.

We are really hoping that the forecasted practical completion (PC) date of the end of June is still looking really good, so that we can get the C inspection done, then the builder has 10 days to fix any problems up before handover. So a handover of mid July (Monday 14 July sounds like a good date to us) would be great.
My (Dale’s) Dad is flying over from Tassie to help paint the house out – the builders paint the walls, doors and door frames and all outside painting – we have to seal and paint the walls. We’ve already picked the paint scheme – nothing outrageous.
So, everything seems to be tracking really well at the moment ……. lets see if our builder can keep the momentum going and deliver our new home on time ????????????
Here are some other photos of other bits and pieces around the house.
