House update – 9 Apr 08
I don’t have any new photos of the house for this update but it doesn’t look a whole lot different to last week. The electrician and the plumber have been through and put there cabling and piping throughout when it needs to go. There a couple of hiccups with some pipes and a downpipe being put in the wrong place but Dale will speak to the company about that. Hopefully the roof will go on this week and then the plasterer will come through and then the glazier and the house will be at lockup and they can start fitting out the inside.
Dale and Boris (a big thank you to Boris) were up in the roof space on Sunday running some additional cabling through for some lights that we are having put in that the builders electrician was not able to do for us. They also ran the phone cables through the conduits to make it easier for the technician when he comes to connect up the phones. The conduits are in spots where the roof space is quite small and it was easier for Dale to do it while the roof wasn’t on.
They also when around and put up some brackets under the eaves so that we can attach the patio back on to the house after it is completed. It’s also a lot easier to do that now than when the roof is on cos of the location of the brackets.
It’s all coming along and it’s starting to feel like it is achievable. We shall see if we still get a handover in June as there has been some wet weather and the plasterer will have to wait until all the brickwork is bone dry before they can apply the plaster. This is why we want the roof on so bad.
