Our trip to Tassie

Well we survived our trip to Tassie and are now all back in to the routine of work and daycare and eat and sleep.  It’s like we were never away.

It was great to catch up with all the family and for the boys to meet some relatives they had not met before.

We discovered on Saturday, our first day of travel, that the boys do not travel well.  They did get better after that though.  There were a few stops along the way to Barnawartha, including the obligatoy stop and photo at Holbrook.

A nice night catching up with friends on the Saturday night before we headed off to Melbourne to catch the ferry to Tasmania.  The boys met there Great Aunty (Nanny’s sister) and had their first tram ride.  Unfortunately the weather wasn’t fantastic (it was freezing cold and wet) in Melbourne and the ride over to Tassie was a little rough, for mum anyway.

We caught up with Cameron when we got off for the boat for breakfast at McDonalds.  I think 6am was a little bit early for Cam.

Another few hours driving and then we got to Hobart where mummy and the boys had a much needed afternoon nap.   After our nap, the boys discovered a new toy, the air mattress makes for a great trampoline.

First stop on Tuesday was a visit to the Fire Station with Uncle Chrissie.  The boys absolutely loved it.  Both of them were allowed to push every button and turn on the lights and sirens and beep the horn and went mad.  The first thing Brock said to us on Wednesday morning was “beep beep beep” .

Wednesday, the boys spent the day with Poppy and Colleen and some time with Maree and Justin and cousins Sam and Cody.  A nice photo of the cousins on the slippery dip here.

On Thursday we moved from Nanny’s home to Maree and Justin’s home.  Both Dale and I are now totally in love with underfloor heating.  It wa great to for the boys to have more time to play with there cousins.  We had a family BBQ on Friday (is it still a bbq when its inside?) and some more photo opportunities here.

Saturday we went over to Uncle Chrissie and Aunty Carolann’s for pancakes for brekky.  And then a final found of visits before heading back to catch the boat across to Melbourne.  It was a long day coming home, and at one point Dale was the only one awake in the car, but we got home safely and as I said, are now back in the routine.

Hope you enjoy all the photos.
