Update for 16 Mar 08
Well, another month has gone past since the last update but a lot has happened in that month.
The big news of the month is that the boys are home. And they came straight to home and didn’t have to go via the local hospital. It is fantastic, although very tiring, to have them home.
I had the opportunity to stay a night in the hospital with the boys which was a good thing for me. I was able to look after them on my own but to know that the nurses were there if I needed anything. It was a good thing to be able to do. I also got to bath Zac the night before we left.
We got them home on Thursday (28 Feb) afternoon. We put them in our only two premmie outfits to bring them home and even these were too big. They did look very cute though. We were in such a hurry to leave that we didn’t get photos as we left which is a bit of a disappointment but here is one of them both at home in there outfits.
Here’s a photo of Dale holding one of the boys (I don’t know which as I can’t see his face) and the girls too for their first feed at home.
We’ve had a bit of an interesting ride since we got them home. I got mastitis on Monday and was admitted to hospital on Wednesday evening. It was not a lot of fun. Dale looked after the boys at home for the two nights I was in hospital. He did a wonderful job.
So, now they are home and we are trying to get used to the lack of sleep. Every day is different and each one a challenge. They are both different but we are only able to tell them apart by a small red mark above Zac’s right eye.
The only other way of telling them apart is a small cut from where Zac had his hernia op but that does mean we have to take nappies off, or undies in the future so is not a really convenient way to distinguish. It does make it a little tricky. We have name tags on the cot and have to make sure we put them back in there spot.
Mum is here at the moment and she has been a great help with getting up during the night with me. Two is definitely a challenge but we will get there.
Bye for now.
