Photographing redgums on the flood plain of the Murray River near Echuca, I heard the unmistakable roar of trail bikes away in the bush.
With the expectation that they'd come my way, I selected a suitable spot on the track and setting the camera to continuous shooting, picked my focus point.
I could hear them revving and roaring, maybe three hundred metres away through the bush, where I guess they'd found a muddy puddle to have fun in. Then the noise started moving toward me and three riders, all decked out in their safety gear appeared on similarly, brightly coloured though dirty bikes.
A bit of fun in another muddy puddle, they were on me and then they were gone.
