Shearing at Arcoona Station – Outback South Australia
I videoed and photographed shearing at Arcoona Station in outback South Australia.
Here is the full operation of shearing a sheep.
As soon as the man finished shearing, the roustabout took the fleece to the classing table.

Brings back great memories as a rousabout, Dunns Plains Shearing Sheds at Rockley near Bathurst, my first Job.
Jimbo, my kelpie by my side.
Approximately 3 years ago it was interesting to travel back in time and memories with a visit to Arcoona Station and meet the owners of the moment. They showed us the correspondence and specifications I had typed and that my husband and fellow builders used to build the shearing shed and also the shearers accommodation in the 1950’s.
We both worked with Bowas Constructions Pty Ltd in Dulwich Hill NSW. This firm built homesheads, utility sheds, shearing sheds and shearer quarters for properties on the land.
Well its a pretty cool searing shed and I had a great time photographing and filming it, thank you for commenting on my web site.
Thanks,
Nicholas.
