Camping in an old hut near Lake Eucumbene at the foot of the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales, we went to this spot to get some firewood. The scene grabbed me and so I simply had to take some photos.
The snowgums frame the landscape in a general sense as well as complimenting the storm clouds over the horizon.
I'd be surprised if the oldest of these twisted trees didn't predate European settlement of the area.
