While some would call me crazy and others may brand my outback wilderness trips, fool hardy, I regard myself as compulsive wilderness landscape photographer.

I work mostly, these days, in digital colour, thinking of digital as the poor cousin of film and colour as secondary in it’s power to black and white. Ah well! It can’t be helped. Standing on the concrete floor of the darkroom, illuminated by a small amber light, on long nights and whole weekends has lost it’s appeal.

So now it’s compact flash cards, computer, graphic arts programmes and, of course, the web.

Traveling the South Australian outback on an ATV, (quad bike, four wheel motorbike) and camping out to catch the best outback wilderness lighting at dawn and sunrise in the morning, then sunset and dusk in the evening is an journey for a resourceful surviver; a bushman.
