There’s not a tree in sight to the horizon but privacy isn’t an issue with nobody around to hide from [...]

Camped at Lake Richardson

Well, yes, I arrived at Lake Richardson about an hour before dark after shopping for fresh veggies at Woomera. Ya gotta eat well!
Sure enough I found the area I wanted to camp, pretty much as I’d seen it on Google earth. I’m camped on a rough track about 200 metres off the station road that [...]

Camp on Murrumbidgee River – Nerrandra, Hay

First night on the road I pulled onto a track with a sign that said “River”. This is the Murrumbidgee River, quite a different site to the Murrumbidgee that I know from up Cooma way on the Monaro where it’s a pristine, clean, mountain stream, bumbling over the rocks, and supporting trout.

Camping at Baroota between Port Pirrie and Port Augusta

I camped the night at Baroota Rodeo Grounds between Port Pirrie and Port Augusta on the Stuart Highway in South Australia.

For ten bucks you don’t expect too much. I’ve camped rougher but it’s always cost me nothing. I slept in an open fronted shed [...]

I stopped about three hours short of my goal for the day, a bit tired. Got my camp set up and a fire going in daylight.
But typing up a blog in the [...]

Video – Log on Thurra Beach

Camping at Thurra River Camp in Croajingolong National Park, I wandered along the beach and made a video from the view point of a digital still photographer, featuring a log washed up on the beach and half buried.

Thurra River Camp Ground – Toilets

Well, it’s always nice to be camped somewhere near the toilets. Ya know, ya don’t want to walk too far in the night or even at bed time for that matter.

The other day my grandson Nicky told me that flys spew on their food and then suck it up.

Lunch at Thurra River and Point Hicks

I like a feed when I’m camping!
On this occasion, camping at Point Hicks in Croajingalong National Park in Victoria’s East Gippsland, I had my small caravan. Ah, fridge, gas stove, comfy bed, out of the weather; the comforts of home, almost!
