Story Writing – River Bend, Echuca

Two nights spent at River Bend Caravan Park, near Echuca and Moama in north east Victoria, practically on the border with New South Wales. Our camp is on the Goulburn River and the Murray River is only a kilometre or two away, over the flood plain forest of redgum and what I guess is grey [...]

I’ll be following the route, as far as it can be established, of the explorer, John McDouall Stuart. He traveled in the area in 1858 and once he’d been on the [...]

Lake Eucumbene Wilderness Landscape Photography Trip

Moonscape wilderness landscape – Lake Eucumbene in the Snowy Mountains
Well, you’d expect landscape images of Lake Eucumbene on the Monaro, at the foot of the Snowy Mountains, to feature blue water images, lush plants and flowers, chocolate box photos of an idillic recreation spot.

Near Frying Pan, looking across a narrow arm of Lake Eucumbene, [...]

ATV camp trailer set up for a trial.
Preparations are coming along well for a wilderness travel, camping and photography trip in September.

A dragon raises it’s ugly head.
Faces found in a snowgum, overlooking Lake Eucumbene
For those with an imaginative eye, faces and forms are seen in the random textures and shapes found in the natural world.
A cat perched on a snowgum.
In this case the source of the images is a snowgum, overlooking Lake Eucumbene, near Frying Pan [...]

Rebuilding camp trailer for desert photography trip

The fabrication of parts for rebuilding the ATV camp trailer.
As the time for another outback South Australian photography trip draws near, the urgency of rebuilding the small trailer that carries the camping gear intensifies.
On the previous trip, some of the country proved beyond the endurance of the construction, a crack developing in the draw bar [...]

Photography Trip to Lake Eucumbene

ATV, quad bike, parked in the weird landscape of Lake Eucumbene
G’day there.
Well, it wasn’t much of a day on Good Friday, for photographing or riding, with the sky heavily overcast and showers visible around the landscape, threatening to fall close handy.
However, with the bike motor having just been rebuilt, the urge to give it a [...]
