G'day Rob! Thanks for making contact

Yes, great spots! I really come alive when I get out in that country, all alone.

This last trip I accessed Andamooka Homestead from Arcoona Homestead, via the original main Road to Andamooka. Previous trips I've come in from Olympic Way.

From the homestead it's out past the rubbish tip and across the creek, then use the map and GPS to follow the right tracks.

As you'd know, Andamooka Station has been de-stocked and abandoned for a good three years. Added to that, there had been a good season and some major rain events. The tracks were overgrown and badly washed out in places, as were some creek crossings.

I lost the track twice, making it the second night I'd camped out pretty rough, covering the 65km from Arcoona Homestead where I'd left my ute.

Peter Paisley is the contact person for Andamooka Station. (You probably know that).

In late winter or early spring, my wife and I will be out your way on a much more civilised trip. Really looking forward to seeing Andamooka again and going out to Lake Torrens. Maybe we could look you up and share a cuppa.

Best wishes, Mate!

Hi Laurie, you have some great photos there mate. I live in Andamooka and have done for a long time, I've worked on the station as well. I know these places you talk about and would dearly love to visit them again sometime. Please tell me how you got access to this area (Andamooka Waterhole etc) as it's been 25 years since I was last there?
Thankyou and Regards.

G'day there, Gracie!

Pleased you like the site and thanks for looking out for me about the slow loading.

You're right. The host was having a problem. The site eventually went right off line. All is well now.

Thanks,

hello there and thank you for your information – I’ve definitely picked up something new from right here. I did however expertise several technical points using this web site, since I experienced to reload the site a lot of times previous to I could get it to load properly. I had been wondering if your web host is OK? Not that I am complaining, but sluggish loading instances times will often affect your placement in google and can damage your high quality score if ads and marketing with Adwords. Well I’m adding this RSS to my email and could look out for a lot more of your respective exciting content. Ensure that you update this again soon..

Ah, G'day Wayne!

You'll be right, Mate. The desert won't get you!

Give me a couple of days and I'll give you a map and some directions, either by e-mail or the blog or both.

My son, Josh, lived at Roxby Downs and worked at Olympic Dam for 4 1/2 years. Been home for about three years now. He's an electrician. Worked for SDS for a while and then for BHP. That's how I got introduced to that country.

G'day Wayne.

The bloke who gave me directions has died. But I can direct you to Coulthard's grave.

Please keep in mind that you'll need permission to go on Pernatty Station.

It's country that will kill you, just for being there, if you don't look out.

You'll need a 4x4, motorbike or helicoptor to get there and a bit of navigational ability. It's not far off a reasonable station track but finding your way out there is the issue.

You'll need to allow the better part of a full day to get out there and back to civilization.

So if you reckon you're up for it, give us a hoy and I'll do you a map with directions.
