New ATV Tyres

I should put new tyres on the ATV before my coming wilderness travel photography trip.

Front ATV tyres are a bit old.

But funds are short. I’ll have to take the punt and hope the tyres that I have last the distance.

The ATV front tyres are rather worn down and also are a bit cracked and brittle with age. This isn’t real good for a wilderness trip on such rough and rocky ground with dry salt bush coverage on many tracks.

On a previous wilderness photography trip to the South Australian outback, a stick punctured a front ATV tyre. With my emergency kit, I was able to plug the puncture, pump up the tyre and keep going.

Beside the puncture plugs, I carry a bottle of green goo and have one spare ATV wheel. It’s a rear wheel, so controlling the bike with this oversize wheel on the front may be difficult, but it will get me out of trouble if need be. Anything is better than a 50km walk in such a sparsely populated, wilderness area.
