Rydges Hotel Camperdown Sydney

Over the weekend we made a trip to Sydney, staying at Rydges, Camperdown
Although not cheap by the standards of country people, Rydges Hotel Camperdown was within easy walking distance of our appointment.
From the eighth floor window of Rydges Hotel Camperdown, a view of the city skyline could be seen. With the camera lens held against the window glass, the accompanying photos were taken. Falling far short of harbor views, nevertheless it was a great experience for a rural couple to look out over the rooftops of Australia’s largest city.

If the photographic opportunity ever presents again, a tripod on the roof-top of Rydges Hotel Camperdown would be the go for night time images.
A walk as sunset approached and into the night was an experience. Newtown Road was quite handy, thronging with people returning home after the football, just walking, like us, and out for dinner and an evening’s entertainment.
Many small cafes line the streets of Newtown Road in Newtown, Sydney. Turkish, Vietnamese, Chinese and Thia among the national dishes available. It was hard to find some plain Australian food.

Many of the shops were open as normal, although it was Sunday evening: quite a surprise to country folk.
