Sleeping Out
It was about 1.00am and between Renmark and Morgan that I pulled into a truck parking bay for the remainder of the night.

I camped east of Overland Corner, between Renmark and Morgan.
Plenty of space, with only one semi trailer there, I parked the ute near the edge of the graveled area, spreading out a blue polly tarp for my new, self inflating mattress.
Although still quite warm, a breeze russled anything loose, so I put my coat over my top half as best I could and dropped off into the land of a restful sleep.
The golden glow of dawn was beginning, to the east, when I woke.
Its the Riverina area. Not far from the Murray River, vineyards and malley scrubb alternately line the highway. This was a malley scrub area between two vineyards, so a short distance into the scrub I had the next thing to a shower with a litre of water. Clean undies and shirt felt good.
Breakfast was a stand up affair: three slices of wholemeal bread that had been in the hot sun in the plastic box, all the previous day, margerine that was still melted and Lesley’s home made, prize winning raspberry jam. Topped off with a drink of water, this kept me going for quite some time.
