Yeltacowie Homestead – Outback South Australia

I’ve camped in Yeltacowie Homestead a couple of times. My first visit to Yeltacowie coincided with a visit by two great old timers, Ernie Ash and John Barber.

You see, Yeltacowie homestead has been abandoned for several years and these two mates were making the trip for old time’s sake, having spent some of their childhood and youth at Yeltacowie and Pernatty, the neighboring station that took over Yeltacowie.

My other stay at Yeltacowie was with my grandson on our recent (April 2010) outback trip.

So here are a few stories and photos from Yeltacowie and surrounds. There’s even a video!
